Event Genius powers Lights! Camera! Malta! and Liam Gallagher: Live in Malta

Event Genius teamed up with Malta Shows to bring two magical nights of music to Il-Fosos Square in Floriana on the 17th and 18th of July.

Malta is a major Mediterranean movie star. Over a hundred feature films have been shot there and on the first evening of the open air concert, the BBC Concert Orchestra took to the stage to wow the audience with musical renditions of popular movies filmed on the island, including Midnight Express, The Da Vinci Code and Game of Thrones. There was also plenty of blockbuster action in the form of James Bond and Frozen.

The Piano Brothers, Dominic Ferris and Elwin Hendrijanto, performed medleys from Lion King and The Greatest Showman, while Louise Dearman and Bradley Jaden added vocals to some well known pieces, even bringing A Star Is Born to life with a moving duet of ‘Shallow’. This spectacular night of film music was brought to a close with an orchestral rendition of the main title from Star Wars, under a choreographed canopy of fireworks.

The following night, Maltese musicians Ira Losco and Matthew James warmed up the crowd for the renowned former Oasis frontman - Liam Gallagher. Set against a striking video backdrop, the enigmatic Britpop star rolled back the years with a stellar vocal performance, mixing recent solo tracks with Oasis classics such as ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Star’, ‘Champagne Supernova’ and ‘Supersonic’.

Event Genius ensured the event ran smoothly from start to finish, making a limited number of free tickets available via the Ticket Arena webstore and app. Those opting for an extra special experience were able to purchase VIP tickets.

After purchasing online, fans were delivered an e-ticket, which could be printed out or saved to their smartphone. Upon arrival to the Granaries in Il-Fosos Square, fans had their tickets authenticated by door staff using scanners loaded with the Entry Genius app, ensuring the public enjoyed their evening in a safe, controlled environment.
