Festicket by Event Genius launches official ticket resale platform for Afro Nation & Rolling Loud Portugal

Festicket by Event Genius has launched the official ticket resale platform for Afro Nation and Rolling Loud Portugal, following both festival’s postponement to 2021.
The face value platform allows ticket-holders unable to make next year’s editions the opportunity to resell their tickets to fans who were initially unable to get tickets to the sold out festivals.
All ticket-holders received an invitation via email to list their ticket for resale, which were then listed on Festicket’s resale platform and marketed to their database.
Tickets are relisted at the respective price tier they were purchased at, and sold at face value to ensure fairness to fans now looking to attend next year’s editions. Festicket does not charge any fee to the person listing their ticket, and nor when it sells. The platform is all about putting the fan first.
So far over 16,000 tickets have been listed for resell across both events, with thousands already sold. Those fans who have had their tickets resold have been notified and will have received their original ticket refund.
Matt Ephgrave, Festicket’s Chief Operating Officer, said on the launch of the platform: “The topic of reselling in live events is a controversial one, with some secondary sites marking up way over face value, touts bulk buying up stock to then sell on the secondary market, and there being no guarantee that tickets are genuine.
“We therefore made sure we worked closely with our partner festivals and listened to our customer’s concerns to offer a safe and secure resale platform, removing the risk of fraud and banning unfair mark ups on tickets.”
Jason Jennings, Head of Global Operations at Event Horizon, said: “We’re really pleased to launch our official resale platform on Festicket. We were absolutely devastated to have to postpone this year’s festivals, and while we hope many ticket-holders will join us in 2021, we thought it incredibly important to offer our fans the opportunity to resell their ticket.
“We were lucky enough to sell-out our festivals and therefore know how rife touting and counterfeit ticketing is, so we were determined to give our loyal audience an ethical and effective platform to resell their tickets, and for those fans who missed out first time round the chance to purchase at face value from an honest and fair vendor.”
